Having earned the nickname "Human Pitch-pipe" for his perfect pitch, James has dedicated his life to the pursuit of music. Studying piano, guitar, voice, cello, and clarinet, he has devoted many hours to learning different styles, performing in both choral and theatrical productions.
James performed regularly with the Weber State Chamber Choir as a bass/baritone and as a collaborative pianist, and has done so since 2017. He has also performed on stage in productions of "Mary Poppins," "Our Town," "Almost, Maine," and, most recently, portraying the Narrator in a student-directed production of "Into the Woods." He served as a music director for Clearfield Community Arts Center's production of "High School Musical."
After having studied theory and composition from the age of 7, James began at Weber State University studying under various professionals. In 2023, he shifted his attention towards vocal pedagogy, allowing him to focus on private instruction. He received his Bachelor of Music in December of 2024, and is currently working towards a postgraduate degree in Composition.
